For the second straight game, Carlynton will face off against Riverview. The Cougars will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Carlynton took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Riverview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars skirted past the Raiders 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since March 20, 2025.
Dominic Ciabattoni and Isaac Anker were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Ciabattoni pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Anker struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). At bat, Ciabattoni went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Anker went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Graydon Harvey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Eric Firle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Carlynton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
The win got Carlynton back to even at 1-1. As for Riverview, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Carlynton came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverview in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
