Football Recap: Bethesda Academy Piles Up the Points Against Beaufort Academy

Bethesda Academy strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 50-0 win over the Beaufort Academy Eagles. The Blazers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three contests.

A big part of Bethesda Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Jordan Turner and his top target Ralo Wesley. Turner threw for 182 yards and four TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes while Wesley picked up 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Malachi Morris, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Bethesda Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ka'Mond Young and Isaiah Jones. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Bethesda Academy, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Morris, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Bethesda Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Beaufort Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Bethesda Academy will head out on the road to challenge Dillon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Turner and Jordan Blackmon. As for Beaufort Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
