She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Martinez Poklong has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Martinez Poklong was also big at the plate,  going 4-for-4 with four  runs, five  RBI,  and two  doubles.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jaelyn Vejar, who  fired off three  triples, five  runs,  and five  RBI while going 3-for-5.  Breanna Bartek was another key contributor,  scoring five  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Yerba Buena scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Monday. They were the clear victor by  a  43-7 margin over Evergreen Valley.
 Gunderson's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Yerba Buena, their victory  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 2-8.
 Gunderson took their  win against Yerba Buena  in their previous matchup  back in March by a conclusive  19-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gunderson since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
