Basketball Game Preview: Scammon Bay Eagles vs. Russian Mission Raiders

Scammon Bay is a perfect 6-0 against Russian Mission since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Scammon Bay Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Russian Mission Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Scammon Bay knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Russian Mission likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, everything came up roses for Scammon Bay against Ignatius Beans as the squad secured a 78-39 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Strivers: they've now won six in a row.

ALBERT YUNAK and DALLAS KAGANAK were among the main playmakers for Scammon Bay as the former posted 17 points and the latter earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of DANTE UTTEREYUK, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Russian Mission had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four two weeks ago. They really took it to the Strivers for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-38 win. With the Raiders ahead 43-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Scammon Bay pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Russian Mission, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Everything came up roses for Scammon Bay against Russian Mission in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 94-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scammon Bay since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
