6A District 2 recap October 22, 2013
Jenks extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 2 this week by beating Westmoore, 24-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Trojans.
Bixby made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 519 from 632. The improvement was the result of a 35-3 victory over Edison last week.
Muskogee's dynamic duo of Quintahj Cherry and Tramal Ivy proved to be unstoppable against Sapulpa, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cherry threw for 259 yards and 3 touchdowns and Ivy had 123 yards receiving. Tyriq Beasley helped Muskogee's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 60 yards.
He went 15-24 with 2 interceptions.
Bixby's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Marshall Ray has thrown for 1,761 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Kyle Rhine has 27 catches for 520 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Chieftains and the Jaguars. Sapulpa comes into the matchup ranked 22nd in the state, while Westmoore ranks fifth.
