After flying high against the Southeast Knights two weeks ago, Kauffman came back down to earth. Kauffman took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chillicothe on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Kauffman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Chillicothe is ranked 88th).
Chillicothe found their leader in underclassman Jaishon White, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Mathew, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Kauffman dropped their record down to 10-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chillicothe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Kauffman will head out on the road to take on St. Mary's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chillicothe, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Savannah at 7:15 p.m.
