After three games on the road, Canton is heading back home. They will take on the North Shelby Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Canton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raiders in Missouri (the Tigers are ranked 156th, while the Raiders are ranked 432nd).
Canton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Putnam County by a score of 80-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Preston Brewer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Alspaw, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, North Shelby was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 43-38 to the Tigers. North Shelby has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Canton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for North Shelby, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Canton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Raiders in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory. Will Canton repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
