The Aubrey Rogers Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Evangelical Christian Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aubrey Rogers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Aubrey Rogers proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Neumann a 1-0 shutout.
Delaney McCroskery made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Barron Collier as they made off with a 13-4 win. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Hayden Billie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anayeli Guzman, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaunna Green, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Evangelical Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Evangelical Christian's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Aubrey Rogers, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Aubrey Rogers hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Evangelical Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
