The Richland Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Bedford Bisons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Richland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Richland came out on top against Penns Valley Area on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. Richland put the hurt on Penns Valley Area with a sharp 10-2 victory. While Richland didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The team relied heavily on Maddox Vojtko, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Talon Urbanek was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Bedford hadn't done well against Forest Hills recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bisons came out on top against the Rangers by a score of 10-6.
Aspen Anderson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Bedford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Tucker Boone also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Bedford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Richland's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bedford, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Richland suffered a grim 22-4 defeat to Bedford when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
