Valley Christian (San Jose, Calif.) in the West is the only No. 1 team to remain in the top spot based on this week's MaxPreps Regional Baseball Rankings.
New teams to the top spot include Vianney (Kirkwood, Mo.) in the Midwest, Mountain View (Mesa, Ariz.) in the Southwest, Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) and Zachary (La.) tied for first in the South and La Salle College (Wyndmoor, Pa.) in the Northeast.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Baseball Computer Rankings. The team's record and computer rating are noted in the rankings. Numbers are current as of Tuesday.
The 50 states are divided into five regions as follows:
West: Hawaii, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Colorado.
Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona.
South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia.
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas.
Northeast: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.
States not included: Montana and Wyoming (do not have baseball), Iowa (season is during the summer).
