On Friday, DSST: Cedar earned a 54-46 victory over Soroco. The victory made it back-to-back wins for DSST: Cedar.
Katelyn Fortune was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with four steals. Fortune is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aminata Ndiaye, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Soroco's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kolbie Pierce, who scored 16 points, and CeCe Gregory who scored nine points. Pierce continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
DSST: Cedar has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Soroco, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
DSST: Cedar will head out on the road to take on Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DSST: Cedar is facing Lincoln at the right time seeing as Lincoln is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Soroco, they will head out on the road to square off against Hayden at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hayden is coming into the match with four straight wins at home, so Soroco is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
