It was a good run, but the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cornerstone Christian Academy. Christ the Cornerstone Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cornerstone Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Defenders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was WILL JACKSON, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of WILL JEFFCOAT, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Cornerstone Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Lemmon led the charge by scoring 11 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Erby, who scored ten points.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy will head out on the road to take on Mintz Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Grace Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
