Nokomis won the last time they faced Arcola and  Nolan Herpstreith did his part to make sure it happened again. The Redskins simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Purple Riders 63-21 with plenty of help from  Herpstreith, who rushed for 123 yards and three  scores on only nine carries. He is becoming a predictor of Nokomis' success: when he posts  at  least 80  rushing yards the team is 5-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Another player making a difference was  Kadynn Petty, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one  touchdown. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.
 Nokomis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Herpstreith and  Kannon Jonas.
Nokomis' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Arcola, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  at home.
As of now, neither Nokomis nor the Purple Riders have any future games scheduled.
