Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Loyola College Prep

Loyola College Prep entered their tilt with Booker T. Washington-Shreveport on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Booker T. Washington-Shreveport Lions. With that victory, the Flyers brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.

Larkin Krieg made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Presley Walker was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anna Morris, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Loyola College Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Loyola College Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Booker T. Washington-Shreveport, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Loyola College Prep will head out on the road to take on Caddo Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Booker T. Washington-Shreveport, they will take on Woodlawn-Shreveport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker T. Washington-Shreveport has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
