The Wyoming Area Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against MMI Preparatory School at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wyoming Area has nine straight victories, MMI Preparatory School has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Wyoming Area was able to grind out a solid win over Holy Redeemer, taking the game 6-3. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly three runs.
Jake Snyder made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other pitching news, Wyoming Area got a great performance from Ryan Nemshick as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Alex Vacula was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Rusinchak, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Wyoming Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, MMI Preparatory School might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Greater Nanticoke Area who claimed the real prize. MMI Preparatory School came up short against Greater Nanticoke Area, falling 13-6.
MMI Preparatory School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Wyoming Area, their record now sits at 12-2.
Wyoming Area got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against MMI Preparatory School by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do MMI Preparatory School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
