The Plainview Pirates entered their tilt with the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Plainview walked away with a 48-36 win over Hartington-Newcastle on Tuesday. For Plainview, this counts as revenge for the 47-41 defeat Hartington-Newcastle walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Abbie Kromarek was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that she posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Teya Boyer, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Plainview is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Hartington-Newcastle, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Plainview and Osmond/Randolph will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Osmond/Randolph will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Plainview is ranked 106th). As for Hartington-Newcastle, they will head out on the road to challenge Winnebago at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winnebago has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
