With a playoff win on the line, East Canton rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the David Anderson Blue Devils. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
East Canton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dillon Anderson led the charge by rushing for 90 yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Anderson posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Another receiver making a difference was Aydan Stephens, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two TDs.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Canton's defense and their six sacks. Jacob Demyan was especially locked on to David Anderson's QB and sacked him twice.
East Canton's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for David Anderson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Looking ahead, East Canton will head out on the road to face off against Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Skippers' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them. David Anderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
