The East View Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-6 loss at the hands of Decatur. While losing is never fun, East View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1045th, while Decatur is ranked 100th).
Leading Decatur to victory were Laken Coffman and Bralyn Peck. Coffman scored 15 points along with 3 steals, while Peck scored 13 points along with 5 steals. Peck has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CeCe Davis, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
East View's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Decatur, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
East View will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against China Spring at 1:30 p.m. on December 1st. China Spring is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Decatur, they will square off against Temple at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Temple has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 3.
