Softball Recap: Paetow's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Paetow came into Tuesday's contest having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Morton Ranch Mavericks on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-3 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.

MAKAYLA STATEN made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Paetow got a massive performance out of MIA RUIZ, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs RUIZ has posted since back in February. GLORYA HOWLAND was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Paetow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Paetow's record now sits at 9-13. As for Morton Ranch, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Paetow wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Cinco Ranch on the 4th. Morton Ranch has also already played their next contest (against Tompkins), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
