On Wednesday, Excelsior Charter took a serious blow against Canyon Springs, falling 88-17. Excelsior Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 69-12.
Derek Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Canyon Springs. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Kayden Mims was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Excelsior Charter and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Canyon Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Excelsior Charter and Mountain View will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mountain View is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Canyon Springs and Walnut will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Walnut is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
