The Eden Prairie Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wayzata Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Eden Prairie faced Hopkins in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eden Prairie took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hopkins.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tori Schlagel, who scored 20 points along with two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cam Dennin, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Wayzata posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They skirted past Roseville 58-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wayzata.
Eden Prairie's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2. As for Wayzata, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Eden Prairie came up short against Wayzata in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 63-52. Can Eden Prairie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
