The Lowellville Rockets had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 34-0 victory over Catholic Central. Considering Lowellville has won six games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lowellville's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-3 Springfield and 7-4 Jackson-Milton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.5% over those games). As for Catholic Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-2.
Lowellville will take on Western Reserve at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Reserve will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Catholic Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
