The Mayflower Eagles will challenge the Riverview Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayflower will be strutting in after a victory, while Riverview will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Mayflower made easy work of Bald Knob and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Mayflower got stronger as the match went on, holding Bald Knob to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-15.
Mayflower's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Whittington, who had 28 assists, nine digs, and three aces. Patience Webb was another key player, getting eight kills, eight digs, and two aces.
Meanwhile, Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Maumelle Charter.
The final set scores came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-16.
Mayflower has now won four of their last five games at home. That's given a healthy boost to their 11-8 record this season. As for Riverview, they have now lost 10 of their last 11 games on the road. That leaves them at a 4-9 record this season.
