Basketball Recap: David Hull's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity Prep over Legacy Charter

Trinity Prep lost against Legacy Charter back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Trinity Prep Saints and the Legacy Charter Eagles didn't end well, with the Trinity Prep Saints falling 77-60. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Eagles are ranked 189th).

Trinity Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being David Hull, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The game was Hull's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Garland Ingram III, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points.

Legacy Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trevor Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Miller continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khori Polarchy, who went 8 for 13 en route to 22 points.

Trinity Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Legacy Charter, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Trinity Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-42 victory against Lake Mary Prep on the 31st. As for Legacy Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-40 win against First Academy on the 31st.
