Reilley Oglageo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Trinity Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-11 otherwise. Oglageo was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Richaun Amaro, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Braden Flores was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Trinity Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, First Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Bell Creek Academy on Friday, taking the game 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Collin Herrell was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Caiden Wilcox, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Trinity Christian Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for First Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Trinity Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like First Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
