Raymond/South Bend let Emma Glazier and Ava Pine run wild. Glazier fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-5, while Pine went 2-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and one double. Josie Houk also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Raymond/South Bend was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Pe Ell/Willapa Valley entered their contest against Elma on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley fell just short of Elma by a score of 8-7.
Tylar Keeton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Sophia Milanowski was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Pe Ell/Willapa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Raymond/South Bend, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Raymond/South Bend has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .518. However, it's not like Pe Ell/Willapa Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .556. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Raymond/South Bend couldn't quite finish off Pe Ell/Willapa Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
