The Rogers Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-42 to Muscle Shoals. Rogers lost against Muscle Shoals in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-38 score last time.
Muscle Shoals' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tamora Brown, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Chandler, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Muscle Shoals, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Rogers and Williamson will face off on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Williamson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Muscle Shoals and Saraland will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Saraland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Muscle Shoals is ranked 36th).
