The Palm Beach Central Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Atlantic Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Palm Beach Central's game on Thursday was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 62-55 to Suncoast. Palm Beach Central found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 26% worse than the opposition.
Despite the loss, Palm Beach Central saw an underclassman step up: Izabelle Vilmont scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Vilmont scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Gracie Powell, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Atlantic stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Olympic Heights as Atlantic made off with a 57-33 victory. The victory was just what Atlantic needed coming off of a 72-44 defeat in their prior matchup.
Elanie Sullard was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teresa Pierre, who scored 11 points.
Palm Beach Central now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Atlantic, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Palm Beach Central skirted past Atlantic 67-64 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Palm Beach Central repeat their success, or does Atlantic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
