The DeKalb Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 59-43 bruising from Rock Port. DeKalb has not had much luck with Rock Port recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Bannack Skillen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rock Port, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Skillen has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Meyerkorth, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
DeKalb's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for Rock Port, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeKalb will take on West Nodaway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Nodaway is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Rock Port won't have much time to rest: their next match is against King City at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. King City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Rock Port is ranked 223rd).
