The Biggs Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the CORE Butte Lynx at 8:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Biggs has six straight wins, CORE Butte has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Biggs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 91-38 win over Williams at home. Biggs has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Biggs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emilio Vera, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vera has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Smith, who scored 22 points along with six assists and three steals.
CORE Butte suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Hamilton 72-38. CORE Butte was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-20.
Biggs pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for CORE Butte, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything came up roses for Biggs against CORE Butte in their previous matchup on January 9th as the squad secured a 75-42 victory. With Biggs ahead 38-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
