7A District 9 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Countryside extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 9 this week by beating Wiregrass Ranch, 56-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Countryside took down the Bulls 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Robby Hicks threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 14 yards in the win.
Ryan Davis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Northeast fell to Tampa Catholic. He completed 17 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 84 yards. Davis' favorite target this week was Keith Harrington, who caught two passes for 86 yards.
Harrington was the most productive running back in the league this week. In five carries, he ran for 125 yards as the Vikings fell to the Crusaders.
Northeast's Davis and Harrington have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 1366 yards this season, while Harrington has 21 catches for 511 yards. Mike Jerrido from Jared Davis' team leads the league in rushing with 531 yards.
A big matchup in 7A District 9 this week will be when the Vikings take on Pinellas Park. As it stands, Northeast is in second, while the Patriots are in third.
The Cougars led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Wiregrass Ranch. Hicks in the win.
