Ayden - Grifton hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chargers will face off against the Pam Pack at 6:00 p.m. Ayden - Grifton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Ayden - Grifton took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Fike with a sharp 11-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Chargers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Leah Fields made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Juliyanne Beaman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Ayden - Grifton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Washington was able to grind out a solid victory over Camden County last Monday, taking the game 8-3.
Like Ayden - Grifton, Washington also got a great game from a two-way player: Emma Orr. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Orr has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Honor Edwards was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Miller, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Washington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Ayden - Grifton, they moved to 9-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Ayden - Grifton's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Chargers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Washington, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Ayden - Grifton continue to outrun the ball?
Ayden - Grifton came up short against Washington in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 4-0. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
