Softball Recap: Bear River Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mountain Crest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bear River). They put the hurt on the Mountain Crest Mustangs with a sharp 20-3 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Bear River let Bella Dougals and Aubree Fry run wild. Dougals fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3, while Fry went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Fry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bostyn Lish, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

Bear River pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Mountain Crest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Bear River will head out to challenge Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Crest, they will face off against Fremont at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
