The Greene Central Rams were the 26-20 winner over the Farmville Central Jaguars when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Greene Central took a serious blow against Farmville Central on Friday, falling 47-8. Greene Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Farmville Central was led to victory by Landen Barnes and Elijah Able. Barnes threw for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes, while Able gained 107 total yards and two touchdowns. Able was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Alex Moye was another key contributor, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Greene Central's defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-2 Greene Central and 10-2 Greene Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69.8% over those games). As for Farmville Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greene Central will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Farmville Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Pitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Pitt has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 116 points over their last three matchups.
