Faith Keiper was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Morgan Domino and Kaitlyn Moore stepped up to the plate in a big way. Domino went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Moore went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Molly Shamburger, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Concordia Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 9-8-1. As for Houston Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
