It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but SkyView Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Frontier Academy Wolverines 80-52. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Markus Lloyd, who went 9-for-18 on his way to 23 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Reagan Lewis, who posted 13 points and eight boards.
Lloyd wasn't the only one working in the assist department: SkyView Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. They racked up 16 more assists than Frontier Academy's also-impressive total of ten.
Despite the loss, Frontier Academy had strong showings from Lucas Carmichael, who shot 45% from the field en route to 22 points, and Hurley Flores, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. Those 14 points gave Flores a new career-high. Ethan Martinez was another key player, putting up eight points.
SkyView Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points over those games. Frontier Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
SkyView Academy has already played their next matchup, a 62-56 win against Wray on the 8th. Frontier Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
