The Clearwater Fightin' Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Van Buren Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Clearwater is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
After soaring to 67 points the game before, Clearwater were a bit more limited in their contest last Saturday. They were dealt a 74-14 loss at the hands of East Carter. While losing is never fun, Clearwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while East Carter is ranked 71st).
Meanwhile, Van Buren's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bakersfield.
Clearwater has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Van Buren, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Clearwater was taken down by Van Buren 56-20 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Clearwater avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
