Taylor Martinez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 contests.
In other batting news, Peyton Stewart was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kwinn King, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Melba didn't have quite enough to beat Marsing on Friday and fell 5-3. The Mustangs have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
