Glenns Ferry hasn't had much luck against Melba recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pilots will challenge the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Glenns Ferry's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Melba's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Glenns Ferry was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Horseshoe Bend on Monday. The Pilots never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Pilots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Taylor Martinez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 contests.
In other batting news, Peyton Stewart was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kwinn King, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Melba didn't have quite enough to beat Marsing on Friday and fell 5-3. The Mustangs have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Melba saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kali Adams, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Glenns Ferry is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Melba, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Melba's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glenns Ferry has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Melba, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Glenns Ferry's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Glenns Ferry took their victory against Melba when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 16-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pilots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
