 Verbena's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Caleb Short, who  went 5 of 9  on his way to 13  points and six  rebounds. Short is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Kamari Ceasar, who  posted 11 points in addition to eight  boards and three  steals.
 Meanwhile, Notasulga was just a bucket shy of victory  on Monday and fell  56-55 to Autauga Academy. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Notasulga's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Verbena, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
 Verbena came up short against Notasulga in their previous meeting  back in December of 2024, falling  50-44. Can Verbena avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
