The Platte County Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Chrisman Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Platte County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three matchups.
Even though Platte County has not done well against Grain Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Platte County came out on top against Grain Valley by a score of 61-54.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Chrisman's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Belton by a score of 56-54. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Chrisman came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Belton is ranked 213th).
Platte County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Chrisman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10.
Platte County beat Chrisman 61-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Platte County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
