Vincennes Lincoln has gone a perfect 5-0 against North Knox recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Alices will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Vincennes Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Vincennes Lincoln had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Barr-Reeve on Saturday. The Alices were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Vikings. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Alices considering their two-run performance the match before.
Justice Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Daniel Henderson and Cooper Collins did most of the damage at the plate: Henderson went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Collins went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Collins a new career-high. Brady Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, North Knox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Barr-Reeve, falling 11-1. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly ten runs.
North Knox saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Yenne, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Yenne has brought in this season.
Vincennes Lincoln's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for North Knox, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
North Knox's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vincennes Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. It's a different story for North Knox, though, as they've only averaged .178. Will they be able to contain Vincennes Lincoln's hitters?
Vincennes Lincoln took their victory against North Knox in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Alices have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
