Lincoln's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamelle Newman, who rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Kai Villegas, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Lincoln's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Burton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Lincoln will face off against Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
