Okemah had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 30-58 punch to the gut against Stroud on Friday. If Okemah were hoping to take revenge for the 36-42 loss against Stroud the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The loss dropped Okemah back to even at 0-0. The win bumped Stroud's record up to 1-0.
Okemah will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Hulbert at 7:00 PM. As for Stroud, they will face off against Prague.
