John Mall were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last week, as they fell 6-10 to Rye. John Mall got a solid performance out of junior Wesley Van Matre, who rushed for 92 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 6-42, which was the final score in Ignacio's tilt against Newcomb. Ignacio were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-22.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
