The Pacific Grove Breakers came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Seaside with a 65-61 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pacific Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriel Valencia, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Nimri, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Pacific Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Seaside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.
Pacific Grove will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. As for Seaside, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcatz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Watsonville is ranked 812th, while the Spartans are ranked 806th).
