The Constitution Generals came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Springfield out 48-45. Given Constitution's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Cougars are ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Perry Fields was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals. Amir Speights was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Constitution is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Constitution does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Springfield will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Raptors at 7:00 p.m. Radnor is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
