Princeton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Monmouth-Roseville Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Princeton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 232 points over their last five matches.
Princeton stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They breezed by Paxton-Buckley-Loda at home to the tune of 44-7. Given Princeton's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Paxton-Buckley-Loda is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Princeton relied on the efforts of Ace Christiansen, who gained 101 total yards and two touchdowns, and Casey Etheridge, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Preston Arkels was another key contributor, rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, Monmouth-Roseville entered their tilt with North Boone with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Monmouth-Roseville put the hurt on North Boone with a sharp 35-14 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for Monmouth-Roseville, who have now won three matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Monmouth-Roseville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Andrew Myers, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and Tyler Finnicum, who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns.
Princeton's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.6 points per game. As for Monmouth-Roseville, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Princeton against Monmouth-Roseville in their previous meeting back in August as the squad secured a 40-0 victory. Will Princeton repeat their success, or does Monmouth-Roseville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
