The Killian Cougars will face off against the Brito Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Killian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Killian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Gateway 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Ryan Llambes, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Gateway off the board. Llambes also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Killian is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise. Jabriel Gonzalez came in to relieve Llambes and was airtight, giving up no runs, hits or walks in his an inning pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Johnny Chen See, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. David Builes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Brito suffered their closest defeat since May 14, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sunset by a score of 11-9. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Brito also got a good showing from SebaSthyan Montilla, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Montilla has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cristopher Guzman and Diego Perez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Guzman went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Perez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Perez has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel De La Valle, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Killian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Brito, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Killian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Brito struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Killian got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 against Brito by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
