With a playoff game on the line, the Hamilton Southeastern Royals rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 61-48 victory over the Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for Hamilton Southeastern who now have four in a row.
Hamilton Southeastern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Makalusky out in front who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kayla Stidham, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Zionsville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allie Caldwell. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with two steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Caldwell posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Haan, who scored 14 points.
Hamilton Southeastern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. As for Zionsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-7.
Hamilton Southeastern won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Millers at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Noblesville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 501 points over their last eight games. Zionsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
