Softball Recap: Eagan Extends Winning Streak to Two

Eagan took a 16-run loss the last time they faced off against Rosemount, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats never let the Irish get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday. The one-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Jocelyn McClary, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Rosemount off the board. McClary has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eagan's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Barry, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Eagan and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Rosemount, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
